Recycle Wise in Surprise
Transitioning back To CURBSIDE RECYCLING
If you have read your latest copy of Surprise Progress magazine then you already know that a transition period will starting in late July – which is NOW!
So, if you have been using your blue garbage can for anything you want, you need to stop! Bummer…..only one can now!
The City is preparing to transition back to recycling. To do that the city will be doing two things:
Picking up the blue cans with a recycle truck and The public works Dept will be checking your blue cans to make sure you are not doing anything wrong ????
HERE ARE SOME TIPS ON HOW TO “RECYCLE WISE”
PAPER
All paper is good
Shredded Paper put in clear plastic bag
PLASTIC
Plastic is good – bottles included
Lids are only recyclable if screwed onto containers (Doesn’t make since to me either ????)
ALUMINUM CANS, TIN CANS, CARDBOARD, AND GLASS
No restrictions – which is good
DO NOT RECYCLE
Garbage
Yard Waste
Plastic bags (take them to a store)
Styrofoam
OK! You are on notice! The City Public Works will be putting “educational” tags on your blue recycle can if you do not follow the above tips.
